What time should our movie start?

After full dark. In Florida that is typically 9PM or later in summer, and a little earlier in the winter months. A projector cannot compete with daylight or dusk, so we do not recommend starting a cinema party earlier in the day.

How much space do you need?

Roughly 16 feet wide by 20 feet deep of reasonably flat grass, turf or patio for the screen and viewing area, with about 3 feet of clearance behind and beside the frame.

What electrical access is required?

One standard grounded outdoor outlet (110V) within about 100 feet of the screen location, on a circuit that is not already loaded with pool pumps, fryers or bounce-house blowers.

Who moves the equipment if the weather turns?

You do. Once we hand off, you are responsible for moving the projector, sound and screen to a covered area if rain, wind or sprinklers threaten. Equipment left exposed or damaged carries a $1,000 replacement charge.

Read this before your event. It covers the space we need, electrical access, the right start time, and how to protect the equipment overnight. Five minutes here makes the whole night effortless.

1. Space & clearance

Our 150-inch framed cinema screen is rigid and tensioned — we never use inflatable screens — so it needs a defined, reasonably level footprint.

• About 16 ft wide × 20 ft deep of flat grass, turf or patio
• 3 ft of clearance behind and beside the frame so it can be braced safely
• A clear projector throw line — no chairs, planters, umbrellas or foot traffic across it
• Gate or side access wide enough for a hand cart (about 36 inches)
• The darkest area available; floodlights, tiki torches and landscape lighting wash out the picture
• Sprinkler zones in the screen area turned off for the night

2. Electrical access

Everything runs on standard household power — no generator needed — but the circuit matters.

• One grounded 110V outdoor outlet within roughly 100 feet of the screen
• Ideally a circuit not shared with pool equipment, food warmers or inflatables
• We run and tape every cord for safety; please leave those runs as we set them
• If your only outlet is far or unreliable, tell us in advance and we will plan around it

3. Timing: viewing is always best after dark

This is the single biggest factor in how good your night looks. Projection needs darkness — in daylight or dusk the image looks faded no matter how good the equipment is.

• Plan your movie start for full dark — typically 9PM or later in Florida
• In winter months darkness comes earlier, so start times can shift earlier too
• We do not recommend cinema parties that begin earlier in the day
• Great format: guests arrive, eat and swim at golden hour, movie rolls once it is fully dark
• We install in the afternoon so everything is tested and ready well before showtime

4. Handoff — how we leave you set up

Before we go, we test picture and sound end to end, walk you through starting and pausing your movie and adjusting volume, and leave you a direct phone number to call if anything at all goes sideways during the night. Then we quietly leave so the night is yours. You keep the full setup until morning collection.

5. Protecting the equipment overnight

Because we collect the next morning, the equipment stays in your care overnight. When the movie ends, you are responsible for moving the projector, sound system and screen into an area that is not exposed to the elements — a garage, covered patio, lanai or indoors.

• Move gear under cover as soon as the movie ends, or sooner if weather turns
• Keep it away from sprinklers, pool splash and overnight dew
• Never leave the projector or speakers uncovered in rain or wind
• Unplug the equipment before moving it, and keep cords clear of walkways

If equipment is left outside exposed to the elements or is returned damaged, an additional $1,000 charge applies.

6. Night-of checklist

• Yard mowed and the screen footprint cleared before our afternoon arrival
• Pets secured and gate unlocked for install and morning collection
• Sprinklers off, floodlights off, streaming account logged in on your device
• Movie start time set for after dark
• A covered spot identified in advance for the equipment overnight
